Vitamins and minerals
Vitamins, minerals and trace elements interact in the body in order that biochemical processes can take place. If there is an inbalance in the body, then these processes do not work fully. Supplements are available in several different forms, such as powder, capsules, liquid or tablets.
Supplements cannot serve as a substitute for proper food, and most of them can not be absorbed in the body without food. On the other hand, they are beneficial additions, especially if you suffer from some kind of chronic disease or if the body for some reason does not absorb nutrients in the daily diet.
Most supplements are safe to take without consulting a nutrition practitioner. However, if you suffer from, or have chronic health problems, it is always best to seek expert advice first.
